Founder and Kumu Hula (hula teacher) Kekoa Yap is a major contributor in perpetuating and preserving the native Hawaiian Culture through hula, formal education and training in the disciplines of traditional Hawaiian hula, including dance, music, language, values, traditions, history, arts and crafts. It is from our kupuna (ancestors) that we continue their legacy in keeping the culture preserved, which is the drive behind Kumu Kekoa.

Kumu Hula Kekoa Yap was raised in the Hawaiian ways on the island of Maui. He is an accomplished award honored hula performer who shares his passions for the Hawaiian Culture through the opening of the first authentic Hälau, in the Palm Springs area. Hälau member’s come from all areas of the Coachella Valley.
It is with great pride we share the magic of Hawaii within our community and welcome new members who wish to dedicate themselves to the study of the arts and history of the Hawaiian culture.
